Polly’s Words

We hope you’ll join us here at HCT on Sunday January, 30 from 11-1pm as our friend Polly Law signs her new book:

As a Bricoleur, Artist, Designer and  Mythologeinist Polly’s works will challenge your vocabulary, make you laugh and inspire you to create and dream. Or at least that’s what she inspires in  us. And, because we like her so much we put her on the hot seat this week with 10 Questions, HCT Style

What’s your HCT regular order?
Earl Grey Tea and some sort of breadish thing in the afternoon.

What would the title of your biography be?
The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle but I’m not sure why.

What’s in your refrigerator right now?
Whatever it is resembles a science project gone horribly wrong.

If you could have coffee with anyone throughout history who would
it be?
Hypatia of Alexandria. She was the last scientist/philosopher to work
at the Library of Alexandria. In 415 AD, as she was going to work at
the Library, she was attacked by a mob of Christians and flayed alive
with clamshells, then decapitated. All of her works were burned. The
man who ordered the act, Cyril, Archbishop of Alexandria, was made a
saint. Later the Library was sacked and destroyed by an Ottoman
emperor because civilization only needed one book, all others were
superfluous or blasphemous.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a snow day?
Work in my studio/workroom. There is always some idea pulling at my
brain that insists upon being realized.

Do you have a nickname and if so, who gave it to you?
I’m sorry, I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you. Many
people shorten my name to Pol.

If you could have been at one event in history, what would it be?
The Council of Nicea, 325 AD, but only if I could leave a very large
explosive device on a timer. Unfortunately, there is never a shortage
of theological tyrants in the world.

What’s your greatest virtue?

What’s your greatest weakness?

What do you aspire to be?
My authentic self
